Kanchanjunga trek Royal Trek in Nepal Chitwan National park

Trekking General Information

What is Trekking ?
Trekking literally means travelling on Foot in the same style as the early explorers on this land. Trekking with us is not 'backpacking' as we provide full and hassle-free service whereby you only carry a daypack for your personal valuable kits.

What is the routine while on trek ?

Typical day starts around dawn when the guides brings a 'Wake up' cop of tea/coffee. This will be followed by a bowl of hot washing water out side the tent. After packing the kit a hot breakfast is served and most are on their way by 8am. Morning walk lasts around 3 to 4 hours and walk will be at trekker's pace. There will be ample time to ake the scenery. Cooked lunch is normally provided at noon. Afternoon walk is normally aroudn 2 to 3 hours. The oernight camp is reached by mid/late afternoon. Tea is served while the tents are pitched and the evening meal is served around 6 to 7 PM. There could be evening entertainment by the locals in some the areas.

Trekking is mostly on well maintain trails but there are routes over 'Off the beaten tracks' and through rugged terrain. All of our treks are graded and summaries of what you can expect are:

Grade Easy - Easy treks up to about 2000m over well difined tracks. Plantey of Ups and down but those leading an active life style can easily manage it without any problems.

Grade Moderate - Moderate trekking reaching over 3000m at times over fairly rugged terrains. Visitor must be a regular hill walker/ hiker.

Grade Moderate to Strenuous
 - Moderate and strenuous and will involved going over 4000 - 4500m passes. Trails are in some part not so well difined and fewer habitation.

Grade Strenuous
- Strenuous trekking and a genuine Himalayan adventure. Will involved trekking up to 5500m therefore visitor needs to be fit and prepared to tackle difficult terrain and remote area.

To really enjoy all grades of treks, we recommend that visitor exercise regularly prior to departure.
